Interest in the LLPS2026 Workshop and PhD School has been very high. Both events reached full capacity within just a few days of opening registration, reflecting the growing interest in liquid–liquid phase separation and related self-assembly phenomena across disciplines.
Taking place during the last week of August in Lund, the LLPS2026 program will bring together researchers from the fields of life sciences, biophysics, soft matter, materials science, and food science. Participants will explore topics including liquid–liquid phase separation, complex coacervation, condensation, self-association, and phase transitions in systems ranging from proteins, peptides, and membranes to polymers, colloids, and cells. Experimental, theoretical, and computational perspectives will be represented throughout the program.
The PhD School will provide an intensive learning environment for doctoral students and early-career researchers, while the workshop will create opportunities for scientific exchange across communities working on phase behavior and self-assembly in biological and soft matter systems.
